A man accused of killing a New Zealand national earlier this month has been remanded in custody by the Suva High Court.

Rusiate Raiwalui is charged with one count of murder.

The New Zealand businessman was dropped off at the CWM Hospital on the 8th of this month and stab wounds were found on his chest.

He was later pronounced dead after doctors failed to revive him.

The accused is now represented by Barbara Malimali.

The state lawyer has also been given 21 days by Justice Daniel Goundar to file information and disclosures.

Justice Goundar told Malimali that this is a serious charge and the accused would need to make a formal bail application.

The case has been adjourned to 25th June, 2019.
