Pacific Sprint King, Banuve Tabakaucoro has qualified for the semi-finals of the 200m in the Oceania Athletics Championship after he came second with a time of 21.27 seconds in the heats.

The semi-finals of the 200m will be held today.

Meanwhile, Kameli Sauduadua came 5th in the finals of the 400m with a time of 48.14 seconds while Marist Brothers High School student, Petero Veitaqomaki came 6th in the 800m final.

Around 700 athletes are taking part in the Oceania Athletics Championships which is a qualifying meet for the World Athletics Championships in Doha.

A number of athletes from New Zealand and Australia are taking part in the Oceania Athletics Championships.
