India has qualified for the semi finals of the Cricket World Cup after beating Bangladesh by 28 runs.

Five matches are yet to be played before the first semi final at 9.30pm next Tuesday.

Australia has also qualified for the semi-final.

India will now play Sri Lanka at 9.30pm this Saturday while Bangladesh play Pakistan at 9.30pm Friday.

Meanwhile, New Zealand play England at 9.30 tonight.

Australia leads the world cup points table with 14 points from eight matches.

The team will face South Africa in their final group match at 12.30am this Sunday.

India are second on the points table with 13 points from eight matches.

New Zealand are third on the points table with 11 points from eight matches and have one match left to play .

England are fourth on the points table with 10 points from eight matches.

The group stage format is a round robin, where all ten teams play each other once, in a single group.

This means a total of 45 matches will be played, with each team playing a total of nine matches.

The top four teams from the group will progress to the semi finals.

The first semifinal will be played on the 9th of this month at 9.30pm while the second semi final will be played on the 10th of this month at 9.30pm.

The final will be played on the 14th of this month.
