The Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar has confirmed that the Stop Work Order is still in place for WG Friendship Plaza along McGregor Road in Suva because of the issue of encroachment into Holy Trinity Primary School’s property.

Kumar says they have told WG Friendship Plaza and the Anglican Church in Fiji to go through a mediation process because of the encroachment issue.
She says Fiji has a Mediation Centre and this is where they have suggested to WG Friendship Plaza and the Anglican Church to take the matter to before they take it further to the courts.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Anglican Church says they are currently going through negotiation stages with WG Friendship Plaza with regards to the issue.
He says they can confirm that they have been talking with WG Friendship Plaza as they have built into the school’s compound.
WG International Real Estate Fiji Limited, General Marketing Director Ron Ding had earlier stated that they hope to open the building by the end of next year and says it will provide more than 500 jobs to the local market.
