Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama said that given the enormous contributions of rugby to Fiji's social and economic development, the Interim Government will continue to support the sport financially, and facilitate and promote both domestically as well as internationally.
Speaking at the Fiji Rugby Union Awards last night, the Interim Prime Minister said rugby is now increasingly bringing in social and economic benefits to a small country like Fiji.
Bainimarama adds that the sport has also a remarkable unifying effect on the people of Fiji, given the diversity of the country in terms of ethnicity, culture and the various communities.
Bainimarama concludes that with the right attitude and plans and accordingly develop an atmosphere of teamwork all odds can be beaten.
