The Digicel Fiji 7s team, though losing out by 21-31 to New Zealand in the finals, now know where they stand, the strengths and weaknesses of the team, and the areas they could improve on in the next tournament in George.
Speaking to Village Sports, former Digicel Fiji 7s coach Peni Veidreyaki said that he was happy with the boy’s performance and has only advised them not to play catch-up rugby but to try and put up points from the start.
However, New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens said that the win against Fiji last night did not come easy for them.
After the Dubai tournament, New Zealand are in first place on 20 points, second is Fiji on 16 points and tied in third place is England and South Africa on 12 points.
All teams will now gear up for the next tournament in George 7-8 December.
