The Commerce Commission is expected to assess later on whether Telecom Fiji Limited's new landline call rate of 8 cents a minute is reasonable.

Chairman, Doctor Mahendra Reddy said at the moment the commission only sets the wholesale rates for telephone and mobile calls.

He said while it is good practice to have a business model that does not give unlimited access to customers for a marginal rate, the new rate will be analyzed in due course.
