The government is calling for more cooperation from regional countries on boarder security issues in order to crack down on illegal activities.

Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office Colonel Pio Tikoduadua said due to the lack of custom resources, Fiji continues to be used as a transit point and port of entry for illegal substances.

Colonel Tikoduadua said assistance from Australia and New Zealand is vital in their efforts to reduce such activities.
