Children took the center stage in most churches around the country today, as they celebrated Palm Sunday.
Most of them lead the Sunday services and presented a drama to show the triumphal entry of Jesus riding on a donkey into Jerusalem for the Passover with children laying palm leaves on the street.
In biblical terms, the donkey was a symbol of peace and the laying of palm branches indicated that the king or dignitary was arriving in victory or triumph.
Fijivillage spoke to some of the children who took part on what the day means to them.
Meanwhile Easter will be celebrated next week beginning on Friday 22nd.
