The mixed results from the Flying Fijians performance in Test rugby is one of the factors to why Fiji Rugby Union is still unable to secure a major sponsor for the team.

Marketing Manager, Tevita Waqairawai said that they have a few companies who have shown interest but nothing concrete has come through.

Waqairawai added that with five weeks remaining it is likely they will travel to New Zealand without a major sponsor.

Meanwhile the government has already given $2.6million to the FRU for the World Cup preparations.

Another $400,000 is expected to be released soon.

Fiji is in Pool D in the World Cup with South Africa, Wales, Samoa and Namibia.
