Commander Francis Kean has been appointed as the Acting Permanent Secretary for Works, Transport and Public Utilities and Lieutenant Tiale Vuiyasawa is now the Acting Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Permanent Secretary for Works position was left vacant after the appointment of Cama Tuiloma as Fiji’s Ambassador to the Republic of Brazil.
Public Service Commission Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi said Commander Kean has leadership qualities and wide experience in the RFMF and the civil service.
In 1990, Kean was the first Fijian to pass the International Sub Lieutenant Course at the Britannia Royal Naval College.
He was also awarded a Graduate Diploma in Management in Defense Studies in 2002.
Serulagilagi said last year Commander Kean was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and a Post Graduate Diploma for General Managers from USP.
Serulagilagi said Lieutenant Tiale Vuiyasawa has served in various Fiji Regiments abroad as Platoon Commander.
PSC said both positions will be advertised and processed in due course.
