“Any group would have been Mount Everest for us.”
Fiji soccer team coach Frank Farina made this comment after Fiji was drawn with defending champion Mexico, Germany and South Korea for their Olympic football debut in Rio.
Farina said Olympics is bigger than the FIFA Under 20 World Cup which Fiji featured in for the first time last year.
The former Socceroo said some of the best in the World will be playing in the Olympics which may include Brazil’s Neymar and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
Meanwhile the Vodafone Fiji Under 23 soccer team will soon leave for Brazil to play some build-up matches.
The Rio Olympics will be held in August this year.
