Marist Brothers High School’s rising star Josefa Tabakaucoro is back for redemption after a disappointing performance in the Coca‑Cola Games last year.

Tabakaucoro was beaten by Kameli Sauduadua of RKS in the Junior Boys 400 metres final last year.

He is back with full focus this year and broke the Coca Cola Suva Zone 2 400m metres Junior Boys record with a run of 50.39 seconds.

The previous record of 52.1 seconds was set by Eroni Cagi of Suva Grammar School.

Tabakaucoro bagged a gold medal for Marist in the 200 metres Junior Boys final and the 400 metres event at the Suva Zone 2.

James Cox of Natabua High School will be Tabakaucoro’s main competitor in the Junior Boys 400 metres event.

Josefa Tabakaucoro and James Cox will take part in the 400 metres Junior Boys heats next Thursday.

The Coca‑Cola Games will be held from next Thursday to Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
