A 21-year old man has escaped prison sentence after the Suva Magistrate Court handed him a suspended sentence of 2 years this morning.

Vika Hawea who was charged with theft had allegedly stole an ATM card from his workmate on the 7th of April 2015 and later withdrew $870.

His workmate who had used the ATM card later found that there was no money in his account.

He inquired with the bank which later led to the arrest of the 21-year-old.
