A 45-year-old man charged for abduction has been granted bail.

Ram Narayan is alleged to have abducted a 16-year-old girl in Suva between the 25th of August and 27th of September 2017.

He appeared before Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama.

Police Prosecutor Corporal Joshua Shaw objected to bail on the grounds that there is a rise in this type of offence.

The case has been adjourned to 15th February for plea.
