A 23-year-old man from Bau who has been inspired by his grandfathers is sending a message to young men across the country that they can still make it even if they do not have formal qualifications.
Coming from humble beginnings, Atunaisa Rainima who is an FNU graduate had always aspired to become an entrepreneur.
Rainima is one of the first recipients of the ‘Young Entrepreneurs Scheme’ that was launched earlier this year.
He has received a $20,000 cheque from the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Koya to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
Rainima says he had seen his paternal grandfather earn a lot of money through grass cutting while being employed by the Public Works Department.
He had also seen that his maternal grandfather was making a difference in his family by using his expertise to produce Bio Gas and save money for his family.
With the help of his aunt, Rainima had made up his mind of starting up a business company that offered landscaping services and used the waste to produce bio gas as a by product.
His company will be called Smart Eco Care Service.
Rainima intends to employ 3 labourers to begin his business and will be expanding in time.
