Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says they see a better and brighter future for Fiji because government continues to invest in the education of every Fijian child.
Bainimarama highlighted this while opening a new double storey classroom block at the Nausori Primary School.
The Prime Minister inspired students of Nausori Primary School to work hard and do well with the government committing $1 billion in the education sector in the 2018/2019 National Budget.
He says the $843,000 development, which is funded by the Small Grants Scheme under the Office of the Prime Minster, will provide better educational opportunity to the 682 students who study at the school situated close to Nausori Town.
Bainimarama says that he always feels happy to open classrooms for the students.
The students, teachers, parents and former students turned up in large numbers as the school marked the historic opening.
Meanwhile Nausori Primary School's Manager, Louisa Underwood says the opening of the new double storey building is an answer to their prayers.
Underwood who has been the school manager for the past 15 years says the school has needed the new extension for a very long time.
She says in 2011 the school roll was 142 but now it has increased to 682, so the new building is a big achievement for the township.
Underwood says being an ex scholar of the school, she is proud of the new establishment. She says the new building has 6 classrooms and two preparation rooms for the teachers.
Underwood says the new building will be occupied by 2 streams of Years 6, 7 and 8 and the classes have about 40 students each.
She says prior to the new building there were 4 streams of students sitting in the hall for classes for the past 4 years adding that the students have moved to the new classrooms which leaves the school hall vacant.
Underwood says the excitement on the students' faces was plainly visible when they were moving into their new classrooms.
