Fiji Roads Authority have completed major road works on some roads in Suva.
The road works were done on Denison Road, Ratu Cakobau Road, Kimberly Street, Raojibhai Patel Street, Vishnu Deo, Marlow Street and Ellery Street.
FRA General Manager Central Division, Aram Goes says these projects have resulted in a high quality and durable road surface finish that makes the roads smoother to drive.
He says the works included repairing footpaths, removing and replacing kerbs and channels, improve line marking and erecting proper standard signs.
Goes says Suva City has some of the oldest roads and streets and has the highest population, making the city center deserving of this upgrading investment.
This was part of FRA’s Accelerated Sealed Road repair programme that recently saw the completion of significant upgrades on Princes Road from Tacirua to the Fiji School of Medicine.
Future roads targeted for Accelerated Sealed Road repairs in 2018/2019 include Khalsa Road, Mead Road at Princes Road junction, and Fletcher Road from Rifle Range to Karsanji Street.
