3,700 Police officer are expected to be recruited into the police workforce in the next five years.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho highlighted this while officiating at the opening of the new Flagstaff Police Post in Flagstaff.
Qiliho says that this is part of their five year plan programme where the number of officers working in police post around Fiji will increase from 4 to 16 which mean four officers will be on shift at the same time.
He says that they have started their recruitment drive with 600 police officers who are expected to finish their training in the first few months of next year.
Qiliho also said that they have begun doing designs of new police posts which will provide the space and infrastructure to better their policing works.
The Commissioner of Police adds that the Fiji Police force will continue to serve the people of Fiji because that is what they have signed up for.
