The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has begun their series campaign on a high note after defeating France 39-0.

Fiji scored 8 tries altogether in the game with Sevuloni Mocenacagi scoring Fiji’s first converted try in the first minute of the game.

Captain Kalione Nasoko crossed the try line for Fiji’ second try, which was set up by debutant Aminiasi Tuimaba who broke through the French defence from Fiji’s 10 meter line 4 minutes into the game.

Coming into half time, Fiji led 12-0 with coach Gareth Baber urging the players to pick up the energy in the second half and create pressure.

Coming off the bench Amenoni Nasilasila opened Fiji’s onslaught just a minute into the second half while debutante, Vilimoni Botitu scored his first try in the 3rd minute.

Speedster Alosio Naduva scored back to back tries in the 5 minute and just seconds from full time while Botitu sealed the victory during injury time.

Fiji’s next game will be against Scotland at 10.06 tonight while their last pool match is against Kenya at 4.06am tomorrow morning.
