The Minister of Employment Parveen Bala says that a team from the Ministry will visit the Quality Print PTE Limited office today to hold talks with the company’s Founder and Chairman regarding the 5 days Family Care Leave.
In a letter to his employees, the Company Founder and Chairman Dewan Chand Maharaj said that the company does not recognize the 5 days Paid Family Care Leave.
The employees of the company have since then been denied this leave which was announced in the 2018/2019 National Budget and came into effect on the 1st of this month.
Maharaj says he will only allow his employees 5 days Family Care Leave once he sees a written legislation regarding this issue.
The Minister for Employment says the 5 days Family Care Leave was announced in the budget, it was discussed and then it was approved so it has become a law now.
