Twenty traffic officers in the Fiji Police Force are undergoing training in traffic management this week as part of the Indonesia National Police training program in Fiji.

This will include aspects of road traffic control during an accident or other road disruptions.

The training is being carried out by a 16 member delegation from the Education and Training Institution of the Indonesia National Police.

It is part of a bilateral partnership with the Indonesia National Police.

Speaking at the opening of the training program, Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho highlighted that traffic management is a policing challenge in Fiji.

Apart from the focus on traffic management, 30 police officers are also engaged in training on cyber security and public order management.
