Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Coach Gareth Baber showed his gratitude to the Fijian community in New Zealand who came out in numbers to support the team during their campaign to defend their Hamilton 7s title.
At a gathering last night hosted by the Fijian community in New Zealand, Baber says that with the presence of the Fijian community in Hamilton and the amount of supporters makes Hamilton feel like home to them.
Baber says the team knows that some fans use their own money to travel around the world and support the team, so it is important for them to pay that back when they put on the white jersey.
He adds that he has never experienced this type of expectations in other sport’s and the team knows they have a huge responsibility which they try to live up to.
The community also gave the players gifts and some cash.
