Suva defeated Vodafone Premier League defending champions Lautoka 1‑0 yesterday.
Suva’s goal was scored by Meli Codro in the first half of the match.
Suva Team President Ritesh Pratap says defeating Lautoka on their home ground was a bonus.
He says the three new inclusions in their team played brilliant soccer.
They are Solomon Islanders Gagame Seni and Michael Steven Boso as well as Ratu Anare who made a switch from Labasa in the player transfer window.
Remueru Takiate was red carded in the first half while goal scorer, Meli Codro was shown two yellow cards and despite having only 10 men playing, Suva managed to score a goal against the defending champions.
In another match Rewa defeated Nasinu 1‑0. Rewa’s Gabriel Matanisiga scored in the 17th minute of the first half.
Nadi also defeated Tavua 2‑1. Nadi’s goals were scored by Rahul Krishna and Jaisal Kumar.
