A 60-year-old businessman of Sawani has passed away after he was involved in an accident yesterday afternoon along Princes Road in Sawani.
The vehicle he was driving while heading towards Sawani from Nausori was allegedly hit by a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction when he tried to make a U‑turn.
He was rushed to the Nausori Health Centre but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The road death toll currently stands at 5 compared to 1 for the same period last year.
Meanwhile the two women who were involved in an accident along Nabou have been transferred to the Lautoka Hospital.
They remain admitted in serious condition.
The driver is yet to be questioned.
