Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says currently they are exploring the option of installing top‑up machines in schools for holders of yellow e-ticketing cards.
Sayed-Khaiyum made these comments while he was responding to a students’ question during the online budget consultation.
The student told the Minister that whenever students top up their card in town, some shopkeepers top up the wrong amount which makes the students quarrel with the shopkeepers and some students miss their bus after school due to the long queue of students trying to top up their e‑ticketing card within the shops in town.
Sayed-Khaiyum says Government in partnership with Vodafone Fiji will deploy e‑ticketing vending machines across all major municipalities in the very near future which will give students another means through which they can top up their yellow card.
