All Blacks captain Kieran Read will be making an announcement on his playing future in Christchurch this afternoon.
Read has already indicated he will retire from test rugby after the World Cup in Japan later this year.
It is likely he will accept an offer from a Japanese Top League club, Toyota Verblitz while French media reported that he has declined to play for Parisian club Racing 92.
Read says it is important for younger players to step up.
The All Blacks No 8 has played 118 tests for New Zealand since his debut against Scotland in Edinburgh in 2008.
