Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will be the President of the  Fiji Rugby Union for another four years.

He was appointed for another four-year term today at the FRU Annual General Meeting at Novotel in Lami.

FRU CEO John O’Connor says Bainimarama was the only nominee and he was successfully appointed for another term in office.

They also celebrated the Prime Minister’s 65th Birthday at the Annual General meeting.

O’Connor says all directors have also been confirmed to continue for another term.

This includes FRU Chairman Francis Kean, Deputy Chairman Carl Ngamoki-Cameron and Directors including Bobby Naimawi, Jay Whyte, Berlin Kafoa, Ratu Aisea Vosailagi, Max Olsson, Daniel Whippy and Mere Rakoroi.

He also says that from next year another election will take place for two more Directors to join the board.

O’Connor also says that the FRU achieved a profit of $569,000 in the 2018 financial year compared to $200,000 in the year before.

He says that the profit was achieved through their sponsors.
