Only eight teams will play in the Vodafone Fiji Fact and Inkk Mobile BOG next year.
This means competition in the National Soccer League will get really competitive from next year as the top eight teams on the points table will only play in the two major soccer tournaments.
The Fiji Football Association council meeting has also decided that only 10 teams will play in the Super Premier division next year.
The decision taken by the Fiji FA congress in October has been overturned where it was passed that 12 teams will play in the Super Premier division next year.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel gives the reason behind the move.
Meanwhile, great emphasis will be given to the Under 21 league next year as the Fiji FA has already given the directive to the 10 Super Premier and 13 Premier teams to have their Under 21 teams from next year.
Any teams not adhering to the rules of the Under 21 league competition can get their status relegated from full membership to associate member.
