Over two thousand women have gone for repeated counseling sessions with the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre.
Fiji Women's Crisis Center Co-ordinator Shamima Ali said the turnout is an indication of more women being bold enough to come forward and report their cases.
Ali said the counseling sessions provided also allows more women to know what is wrong and also a place to go.
According to the centre there were 1,387 cases of repeated counseling sessions held in Suva, 380 women returned for counselling in Nadi.
Ba reported 335 cases, Rakiraki 183 and Labasa 414 cases.
The repeated counseling sessions were for cases of domestic violence, rape, sexual harassment and child abuse among others.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Women Crisis Center counsellors also offer individual advocacy for each woman, girl or child and support through medical, police, legal and housing processes.
Shamima said while there are challenges strategies are also being developed to overcome the issues.
