The Fiji Electricity Authority said power at the Waimanu Power Station will be restored by tonight or tomorrow morning.
Water Authority of Fiji CEO Opetaia Ravai said five power poles fell down and due to safety reasons, power supply to the Waimanu Station was switched off by the FEA.
FEA CEO Hasmukh Patel said they are currently working on the problem.
This power outage is affecting about 95,000 residents in the Central Division who are facing water cuts.
Meanwhile, Patel said some affected areas may start receiving normal power supply by this afternoon as FEA is currently working on repairing broken power lines in the affected areas.
