Most parts of Viti Levu now do not have electricity.
Residents in the Central Division are also experiencing power blackouts.
The Fiji Electricity Authority said the weather conditions have had an impact on the 132,000 volt transmission line that supplies power from the Wailoa Power Station to the Central Division.
FEA said they have some idea of the location of the fault however access is an issue due to floods.
In the meantime, FEA is in the process of supplying power from the Kinoya Power Station.
However Kinoya Power Station will not be able to meet the demand of the Central Division in totality.
Therefore some people may continue to experience power blackouts for some time.
FEA is making the announcement this hour about the power blackouts.
Stay with us for that.
