Thousands of people living in the greater Suva area will experience disruptions in water supply until Saturday.

This is due to low water levels in the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant reservoir which is caused by a burst water pumping main.

The affected areas include Delainavesi, Lami, Qauia Street, Valenicina, Kalekana, Uduya, Veisari, Wailoku, Pathik, Nailuva, Howell Road, Lekutu Street, Waimanu Road and Ratu Sukuna Road.

Repair works on the pipe have commenced and are expected to finish by tonight.

The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that water carting trucks are on standby and will service areas if the need arises.
