The prices of LPG products will increase from tomorrow.
The new prices have been determined by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission.
A 4.5kg cylinder will cost $14.55 from tomorrow which is an increase of $1.66.
A 12kg cylinder will cost $38.80 from tomorrow which is an increase of $4.42.
The bulk will cost $2.73 per kg from tomorrow which is an increase of 11 cents and Auto Gas per litre will be $1.83 which is an increase of 22 cents.
The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission Acting CEO, Senikavika Jiuta says the prices from tomorrow to 14th January 2019 is mainly determined by the movement in the international prices for butane from July to September 2018 and the operating cost review of the Fijian LPG Suppliers.
Jiuta says that the major reasons for the increase in the prices for all LPG products are from the increases in the international butane prices based on the Saudi Aramco Contract Price, affected by the strengthening of the US dollar and the increase in the international freight rates.
She adds that Fiji is directly affected by the world market prices for Fuel and LPG products and as such, any changes to the world market prices will be reflected in the Fuel and LPG prices in Fiji.
Jiuta says that the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission will conduct the next fuel and LPG price review on 15th January 2019.
