578 bus drivers were fined last year for receiving cash for fares.
This has been revealed in the latest statistics released by the Land Transport Authority.
LTA had earlier confirmed that the fine for bus drivers who receive cash from passengers is $150.
477 passengers were booked for not using E‑Ticketing cards for payment of bus fares while 26 people were fined for using another persons subsidized card to pay fares.
3 bus drivers were fined for charging incorrect fares.
A total of 1,126 Traffic Infringement Notices were issued last year that for not complying with the Electronic Fare Ticketing Regulation 2017.
LTA had recruited 95 officers last year to monitor the enforcement of bus drivers and passengers conduct towards the E‑ticketing system.
