A man charged with one count of rape has pleaded not guilty before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar today.
He is alleged to have raped his niece in 2013 in Namosi.
Prosecution lawyer Eoghn Samisoni informed the court that the complainant was 8 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
He also told the court that they will be relying on the caution interview as there were partial admissions.
Defence has informed the court that they need time to talk to the man about the partial admissions.
Justice Goundar has transferred the case to Judge Justice Salesi Temo and the matter will be called again on the 4th of March.
The accused’s bail has been extended.
