A 35-year-old surfing instructor has been convicted of the murder of an Australian tourist by the Lautoka High Court.

Lloyd Senikauvava appeared before Justice Aruna Aluthge this afternoon where the judge concurred with the assessors unanimous guilty opinion and convicted him.

Senikauvava murdered 44-year-old Tracy Ann O'Brien Maw in Sigatoka in 2014.

The matter will be called again this Friday for mitigation submissions from the defence.
